Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how JustX ("JustX," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and application at justx.app and related services (the "Service").

JustX is currently operated by an individual based in Germany. See the Legal Notice / Impressum for our current contact details. If JustX is later operated through a registered company, this Policy will be updated accordingly.

1. What JustX Does

JustX is an AI personal assistant that helps you complete everyday tasks — such as searching the web, checking prices, finding availability, scheduling meetings, and (where you explicitly confirm) placing bookings or orders on your behalf. To do this, JustX processes the instructions you give it, may search the web on your behalf, may connect to your Google Calendar and Gmail (only if you choose to connect them), and may remember relevant facts about you across sessions so it can act like a personal assistant rather than a one-off tool.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Account information: email address, and password (if you sign up directly) or your Google account identifier (if you sign in with Google).
  • Messages and tasks: the text you send JustX, including task instructions, questions, and conversation history.
  • Attachments: images or PDF files you attach to a task.
  • Voice input: if you use the microphone or live conversation mode, your speech is transcribed by your browser or converted to text; we do not store raw audio recordings.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Location: if you grant permission, we collect your approximate location (via your browser's Geolocation API) once, and convert it into a city/country (e.g., "Berlin, Germany") using a third-party reverse-geocoding service. We do not store precise GPS coordinates on an ongoing basis — only the resulting city/country.
  • Push notification subscription: if you enable notifications, we store a browser-generated push subscription token so we can send you notifications (e.g., booking confirmations, monitored-topic updates, calendar-based suggestions).
  • Usage data: basic technical logs (e.g., timestamps, error logs) needed to operate and debug the Service.

2.3 Information from connected third-party accounts

If you choose to connect these services, we access:

  • Google Calendar: to check your schedule and, with your confirmation, create calendar events (e.g., for a meeting you asked JustX to schedule, or a booking confirmed by email).
  • Gmail (read-only): to detect replies from businesses confirming a booking or reservation you asked JustX to make, so we can notify you and update your calendar. We only read messages relevant to bookings initiated through JustX; we do not read or store your general inbox contents.

You can disconnect these integrations at any time in Settings, which revokes our access going forward.

2.4 Long-term memory

To make JustX feel like a continuous assistant rather than a one-off search tool, we may extract and store durable facts about you from your tasks (for example, "lives in Berlin," or a recurring preference you've mentioned) so future tasks can use that context. You can ask us to review or delete this stored information at any time (see Section 7).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Operate, provide, and improve the Service;
  • Plan and execute the tasks you ask JustX to perform, including web searches, price comparisons, and — only with your explicit confirmation — placing bookings or orders on third-party websites on your behalf;
  • Check your calendar and detect relevant email replies, so JustX can act proactively (e.g., suggesting nearby parking for an upcoming meeting, or confirming a completed booking);
  • Send you push notifications you've opted into;
  • Maintain account security and prevent abuse;
  • Process payments, once paid plans are available (see Section 5);
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data to train third-party AI models beyond what is strictly necessary to generate a response to your request (see Section 4 on subprocessors).

4. How We Share Your Information

We share information with the following categories of service providers ("subprocessors"), strictly to operate the Service:

Some of these providers (notably OpenAI) are based in the United States. Where we transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard recognized under the GDPR.

We do not share your information with advertisers, and we do not sell it to data brokers.

5. Payments

JustX currently offers a free tier. When paid plans become available, payments will be processed by Stripe. We will only receive limited billing information (such as your plan, billing status, and a payment method reference) — Stripe handles and stores your full payment details under its own privacy policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and task data for as long as your account is active, so JustX can continue to provide continuity across sessions. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or security reasons (e.g., fraud prevention logs).

Connected Google Calendar/Gmail tokens are deleted immediately when you disconnect the integration or delete your account.

7. Your Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area (or another jurisdiction with similar protections), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate data;
  • Delete your data ("right to be forgotten");
  • Restrict or object to certain processing;
  • Port your data to another service;
  • Withdraw consent at any time (e.g., by disconnecting Google Calendar/Gmail, or disabling location/notifications), without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal;
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info.justx.ai@gmail.com. You can also delete individual pieces of stored memory, disconnect third-party integrations, or delete your account directly from Settings.

8. Children's Privacy

JustX is not directed at children, and is not intended for use by anyone under 16 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (such as encrypted storage of sensitive tokens and secure connections) to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. AI-Related Disclosures

JustX uses third-party large language models (currently OpenAI's models) to understand your requests and generate responses, plans, and task summaries. Responses are generated automatically and may occasionally be inaccurate — see our Terms of Service for details on how this affects tasks JustX performs on your behalf (such as bookings or orders).

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you (e.g., via email or an in-app notice) before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
